To successfully deliver a scheme in Central London requires an understanding of the complexities of it’s planning laws. London is essentially a city of villages, each one with its own intent and aspirations for growth and development. The Mayor of London has set out his vision for “good growth” which will be interpreted in a number of different ways by the many Boroughs that make up the rich tapestry of this area. Understanding London’s historic context is key to working within the many Conservation Areas, it should be remembered that London has endured destruction by the Great Fire of London and the Blitz but has risen again with ‘the new’ sitting comfortably with Baroque, Gothic and Palladian masterpieces, to make up London’s brilliant eclectic mix.
