Drawing on our extensive experience in the sports and leisure sector, we were appointed to design Harlequins’ new Performance and Education Centre—an ambitious facility that brings the men’s, women’s, and academy squads together under one roof. Conceived to support a holistic approach to total performance, the centre includes a large strength and conditioning gym, an indoor quarter-size 4G pitch, dedicated changing areas, teaching rooms, analysis and auditorium spaces as well as high-quality catering and workspaces.
At the heart of the building is a cutting-edge medical and recovery suite, complete with a hydrotherapy pool, infrared sauna, and ice baths—specialist amenities designed to enhance player performance and long-term wellbeing. The design also prioritises sustainability and inclusion, with 20% EV provision, a dedicated cycle network, and a striking polycarbonate façade that elevates both environmental quality and architectural character.
Serving as the Club’s new Headquarters, the centre creates expanded opportunities for community engagement while strengthening collaboration with the University of Surrey and local affiliate clubs. Over the past year, we have worked closely with Harlequins to shape a best-in-class environment that advances their ‘One Club’ vision, uniting all operations, enriching player development, and strengthening the club’s presence within Guildford.
We are proud to contribute to this transformative and forward-looking project for Quins!
